Fire, Explosion and Gas Dispersion studies (FEGDS)
FEGDS is a professional Safety Study. FEGD study is focusing on modeling and evaluating heat radiation from accidental events, such as fire and explosion from Oil & Gas installations. This study identifies the heat radiation and temperature at certain distance from heat sources and assess its dangers to people working/living nearby. HSE Consulting has extensive experiences to carry out FEGDS using empirical modeling softwares and advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) softwares to model generated heat radiation and heat contours for industrial plants, and especially for Oil & Gas installations, offshore and onshore.

There are 2 types of Fire, Explosion and Gas Dispersion consequence modeling:

l Empirical Modeling: Empirical modeling are using empirical formula to estimate dangerous zones of accident scenarios. Normally, Empirical modeling does not consider topographic features of the plant.

l Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) Modeling: Recently, with the development of Finite Volume Methodology (FVM), CFD modeling is being used to get more precise view of gas dispersion and fires and explosions scenarios. CFD modeling can take into account many features, such as topography, obstructions, etc., while calculating the dangerous zones.
